Fireworks celebrations scheduled in all directions

Sadly, again this year, no open-to-the-public fireworks celebrations are scheduled this year in Seminole County; however,  Independence Day fireworks celebrations have been scheduled just a short drive away in all directions in the following nearby communities. 

Bainbridge

The City of Bainbridge will host its 4th of July Celebration on Thursday, July 4, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Earle May Boat Basin. 

Celebrate Independence Day along the banks of the Flint River and enjoy a fantastic evening filled with family fun, live music, and one of the largest fireworks shows in Southwest Georgia. 

Along with the fireworks display, vendors and kids activities, musical entertainment will be provided by Maddie and Tae,  RVSHVD, and Karisma Brown.

Camilla

To celebrate the Fourth of July this year the City of Camilla will be presenting a special one of a kind in this area illuminated drone show. Festivities will kick off in downtown Camilla on Thursday, July 4 at 5 p.m. In addition to the drone show there will be food vendors, activities for children and entertainment throughout the event.

The  drone show will feature 100 drones soaring nearly 100 feet in the air creating an illuminated aerial display that promises to paint the sy in mesmerizing patterns.

Colquitt 

Freedom Fest will take place Friday, July 5, at Spring Creek Park, located at 154 West Street in Colquitt. This free admission event will begin at 6 p.m., so bring your lawn chairs, bring your friends and family, and enjoy a picnic in the park with music, food trucks, fellowship, fun, pickleball, inflatables and games for the kids. A grand fireworks display will take place shortly after dark. No coolers, pets or alcohol allowed. For additional information contact the Colquitt-Miller County Chamber of Commerce at 229-758-2400.

Dothan

Celebrate an old-Fashioned 4th of July at Landmark Park, Thursday, July 4th, from 12 noon until 8 p.m. At the event, there will be food, competitions, and even a bike parade! The price for adults is $6 each and $5 for kids, those three and under get in for free. Landmark is a 135-acre park featuring a 19th-century living history farm, planetarium and nature trails. Fort Gaines

Fireworks at the Fort will be held in Fort Gaines on Thursday, July 4, beginning at dusk, on Hwy. 39 North at the East Bank behind the Army Corps of Engineers Office. Parking will be available on the Georgia side of Walter F. George Dam. 

Marianna

Marianna will host an Independence Day celebration on July 3rd, from 5 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. at 3625 Cavern Road in Marianna. The festival will begin at 5 p.m, the concert at 7 p.m., and the fireworks show at 8:45 p.m. Marianna’s July 3rd Celebration is a family-friendly event that aims to bring the community together in a spirit of unity and celebration. Thanks to generous sponsors, admission is free, ensuring that everyone can participate and enjoy the festivities.

On July 4th, the ’38th Freedom Springs Triathlon’ will be held at the Blue Springs Recreation Park on 5461 Blue Springs Road in Marianna. Come out from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. for the 400-meter swim, 10-mile bike ride, and 5K run. For more information, click here

On July 5th, Rivertown Street Cruisers will host an Independence Celebration from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. The event will showcase many vintage vehicles, good food, and great country music. At 8 p.m, they will finish off the event with breathtaking fireworks. The event will be held at Circle D Ranch 3121 Dryden Drive in Marianna. Shane Owens and JD Taylor will also take the stage. Any vehicles attending the cruise can start attendance at 3 p.m.
