In the words that follow, Tree of Hope lighter Albritton describes her cancer story . . . “My life took a sudden turn in April 2023 when I received an unexpected diagnosis of breast cancer. I remember feeling a whirlwind of emotions when given the diagnosis. The uncertainty was overwhelming, and I wondered how my life would change. A week after my diagnosis, I was scheduled to see a surgeon. By the end of the next month, I had surgery to remove the tumor. During the Summer of 2023, I began radiation treatments. Rather than letting fear control my path, I have chosen to share my experience to encourage others going through similar hardships”.
Kristi is married to Wilton Albritton and they have two children, Christian and Lydia. Her parents are Linda and the late Phil Hodges. She loves teaching third grade at Seminole County Elementary and she is very active with her church, Donalsonville Church of God. Throughout this entire process, Kristi feels incredibly fortunate to have the love and support of her coworkers, church, community, and family. She wants to remind everyone to get regular health checks and listen to your body!
