It’s time to rodeo!
Gates open at 6 p.m. and the rodeo begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26
The Donalsonville – Seminole County Chamber of Commerce is proud to present its ninth annual 2025 Boots and Roots Rodeo, an IPRA (International Pro Rodeo Association) rodeo, Friday and Saturday, April 25-26.
The annual Boots & Roots Rodeo will be held again this year on property within Seminole County’s Industrial Park East, located just east of Donalsonville’s Friendship Cemetery at 2841 Ash Crossing Road.
Gates open at 6 p.m. both nights and the rodeo begins at 7:30.
Advance ticket prices are $12 for ages 13 and over, and $8 for ages six to twelve. Children five and under will be admitted at no charge. If you wait and purchase tickets at the gate the ticket price for adults will be $15 and $10 for children six to twelve.
Tickets are on sale at the Chamber of Commerce, Donalsonville News, First Port City Bank locations, PeoplesSouth Bank, and Georgia Community Bank.
There is a lot of onsite work required of the Chamber staff the week of the rodeo, so in the event the Chamber office is closed, advanced tickets can be purchased at any of the other locations listed.
Once again, the chamber is contracting with T-T Rodeo Company, owned by Justin Thigpen, one of the most decorated cowboys in IPRA history. He has 19 IFR qualifications to his credit. At the end of IFR52, Justin added two more world titles to his resume in steer wrestling and the tie-down roping bringing the total to six steer wrestling world titles and ten tie-down world titles and five all-around cowboy titles, and is the current All Around leader.
Cowboys and cowgirls will compete in eight of the rodeo world’s most action packed events which includes Calf Roping, Steer Wrestling. Saddle Bronc Riding, Barrel Racing. Team Roping, Bull Riding, Bareback Riding, Calf Scramble, Cowgirl Breakaway Roping, Diamond Dash, and Clowns.
Food vendors, western themed vendors, children’s activities , a Petting Zoo and more will also be on hand for all to enjoy.
Events like the rodeo bring visitors into our community and provide our citizens with a time to celebrate and be entertained in their hometown and county. The Boots & Roots Rodeo benefits our local youth, and the local Chamber of Commerce, and is a great family-friendly event for all ages to enjoy!
