SGA to graduate thirty-one Thursday, May 22
Graduation Exercises for Southwest Georgia Academy’s thirty-one Seniors are to be held on Thursday, May 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Wayne Proffitt, Jr. Gymnasium. Honor Graduates will consist of twenty-three members of the graduating class.
Using the traditional marches for the processional and recessional, graduates will participate in a very formal program honoring this special event under the direction of Senior Sponsor, Mrs. Harold Thomas Gordon, Jr., including the direction of the “Alma Mater” at the end of the program.
Main speeches will be given by the top three Honor Graduates. The fourth Honor Graduate will be giving the farewell speech at the end of the ceremony.
After a presentation of the class, Mrs. John Franklin Godwin, Counselor, will announce special awards and other recognitions presented by Mr. Mathew Trigg Dalrymple, Headmaster. Mr. Dalrymple, Mr. Jack Lehmon Winkler, Jr., Assistant Headmaster, and Mr. Amos John Sheffield, Chairman of the SGA Board of Directors, will then present diplomas.
The Honor Graduates for the occasion are Nathan Lynn Akers, Bella Joy Beckley, Bryant Casteel Collins, Grayson Cade Cox, Cailyn Grace Dean, Ashlyn Nicole Durden, Rylan Ashley Edwards, Emory Rose Fain, Noah Blake Fetner, Jason Grant Fletcher, William Sawyer Franklin, Anna Grace Ginn, Tucker Mills Hornsby, Brackin Eric Jarrett, Asher Thorne Johnson, John Banks Johnson, Emmalee Kaye Johnson, Brayden Johnson Morris, Gabriel Lane Rice, Sadie Nicole Sasser, Carmen Haley Scott, Mary Abigail Van Atta, and Bo Matthew Williams.
Marshals include the following Juniors: Blair Kathryn Bennett, Charles Weston Cowart, Grayson Leigh Haddock, Adleigh Elizabeth Hayman, Aubrey Kate Holloman, Hannah Catherine McLendon, Jana Rachel Sheffield, and Ansley Caroline West.
