Make a resolution to support the Seminole County Senior Center this new year

Through a partnership between Seminole County Family Connection and Seminole County, the Senior Center, located on Wiley Avenue in Donalsonville, reopened last year for scheduled activities and each senior citizen attending thoroughly enjoyed the fun and fellowship offered.

All senior citizens are welcome at the Seminole County Senior Center, so what are you waiting for? Make a resolution in this new year to support the Senior Center activities by attending scheduled events or volunteering.

The Senior Center will start this month’s activities with the Back Porch Pickers hosting the Sand Hill Sisters on Friday, January 2 at 5:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend!

The Book Club Pick is The Housemaid. When Millie becomes the live-in maid for the wealthy Winchester family, she hopes it’s the fresh start she desperately needs. But the beautiful home quickly turns unsettling – Nina Winchester’s unpredictable behavior, the strange household rules, and the growing sense that someone is lying create constant tension. As Millie uncovers the family’s dark secrets, the story delivers sharp twists that keep readers hooked. Fast, addictive, and full of surprises, The Housemaid is the perfect book-club thriller – easy to read, impossible to put down, and guaranteed to spark conversation.

Other events for January at the center include Bingo on Thursdays, January 8, 15, 22 and 29 at 10:00 a.m.; knitting class at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 12; paint class on Tuesday, January 13 at 1:00 p.m.; Canasta on Wednesday, January 14 at 10:00 a.m.; crochet club at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20; jewelry class on Tuesday, January 27 at 1:00 p.m., Book Club and Canasta on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.; and laundry lab at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30.
