Basketball Indians begin quest for State Title Feb. 25
The regular season Region Champions, and region tournament runner up Seminole County Middle High School basketball Indians are headed to the Georgia High School Association State Basketball Tournament.
The 25-2 Indians will open the state tourney at home on Wednesday, February 25 and will face the to-be -announced number three seed from Region 8. In the first three rounds of the state tournament the higher seed will host. In the quarterfinals if both teams are the same seed a universal coin flip will determine the host school.
The Indians received a first round bye in last week’s Region Tournament and opened the tourney’s semifinal round on Thursday, February 12 with a 73-44 victory over Randolph Clay. That win advanced the Indians into the Region championship game set for Friday.
The Indians fell to Mitchell County 46-40 in the championship game and ended the tournament as Region runner up.
The 2025-26 Indians’ team consists of Tim Brown, Zach King, Kamauri Johnson, Urius Taylor, Demarion Moore, KJ Leonard, Avari Leonard, Zakari Henderson, Danija Johnson, Bryson Sparks, Keagan Johnson, Ellis Denham, Jack Palmer, Richard Calloway, Zy’Mere Chrispen and team managers Jeremiah Calloway and David Jones.
