Deadline to apply for Citizenship Award Scholarship is March 1st

Seminole County Middle High School Seniors are encouraged to apply for the newly created Citizenship Award Scholarship. Applications are now available at the
SCMHS front office and the deadline to apply is March 1.

The Seminole County Citizenship Award is a scholarship program bringing recognition of the importance of ethics, civic involvement, and personal integrity in today’s society. 

A scholarship of up to $3000 will be awarded on the following considerations: community activism/service, extracurricular school activities, financial need, academic achievement and personal integrity and character. Applicants must be a 2026 graduating SCMHS Senior, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0,  and plans to enroll in post-secondary institution.

In addition to a completed application, a candidate must provide a minimum one-page essay that considers what a good citizen of Seminole County should be, his or her high school transcript, and two letters of recommendation – one from a teacher and one from a community member.
